You haven't even mentioned the version of .NET you are trying to install. What are we to assume ? |

i am trying to install vs.net 2005. not even the web express edition is getting installed. it generates as error "Suite integration toolkit executable has encountered a problem and needs to close. the error signature details: AppName: setup.exe AppVer: 8.0.50727.42 ModName: vsscenario.dll ModVer: 8.0.50727.42 offset: 0003a490 I have win xp profession (Service pack 2) installed on my machine. |

trying to install Visual Studio .NET Version 7.0.9466.0 and in cd 1 help file is also missing which is Moreinfo.htm if u have this then please mail it. |

Hi Ank, How did you mange to proceed with the installation? Are you not facing the same problem with the installation anymore? As I mentioned earlier, I am also facing problem while installing VS.Net 2005 on Windows XP (Service Pack 2). The problem occurs when it copies about 30-40 files after running the setup file. It displays the windows dialog and asks for reporting the error to Microsoft. I've installed the same version of .Net on the same platform at my work place and did not face any problem. But when I try the same thing on my notebook, it does not let me proceed with the installation. I have given the details of the error and the module in which the error occurs in my earlier post. Hi im still faceing the same problem it is not allowing me to start only im stuck at step 1 :Windows Components update. when i start to run at step 1 it opens a dialog box where it ask for install components ,Continue and Exit. if click on Continue than it a new dailog box an ask for windows Components update disk . I Don't really understand which components it is asking. do u have any idea regarding components ? |

Ank, Apparently you are trying to install VS.NET 2002. If you read the help file, it explains all that you need to know. But I will explain it here : When it asks you for Windows Components update disk, insert the last disk in the set you have (probably the 5th CD) (I'm assuming that you are installing from multiple CD's and not from a DVD). This is the CD that contains the "moreinfo.htm" file you were asking for earlier. When your windows components are updated, insert the first disk again (Follow instructions). Hope this helps. Hi Cerebrus, I also realize now that he's installing a different version of VS.Net. The one I'm installing is VS.Net 2005.
